Comprehensive Benefit Programs for All Postdocs
We have more than twenty years of partnership with public and private universities nationwide. Our University Services benefits team possesses an intimate knowledge and reliable expertise in properly structuring and administering postdoc benefit programs.
We deliver benefits to all postdocs, regardless of the grant type or funding source.
We understand the university financial infrastructure related to postdoc funding. In working with our campus partners, we’ve gained extensive knowledge of how the myriad of grants play a role in the delivery of funds for benefits. Consequently, with our dedicated healthcare partners, we have been able to establish the methodology of how postdocs and the campuses actually pay for the insurance plans offered.
We realize that campuses, and their research affiliates, have specific budgetary guidelines regarding the offering of benefit programs to their postdocs. At GPA, we strive to create, implement and administer postdoc benefit programs that satisfy those budgetary goals, but at the same time assure the postdocs of excellent healthcare.
Types of health and welfare plans offered to all postdocs
Through our programs, postdocs may have access to a broad spectrum of health and welfare benefit plans, similar to your faculty and staff.
With initial implementation of a postdoc benefit program, every effort is made to model the postdoc plans to reflect the current faculty/staff benefits offering, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance plans. We share the objective of providing benefits that not only meet the budgetary needs of the campus, but also offer the postdocs access to benefits within an affordable range so they may also obtain coverage for their family members:

Coverage for postdocs holding J-1 Visa status
Realizing that many postdocs are international and visiting the United States to perform their research while holding a J-1 visa, we offer plans that assure that the U.S. State Department required medical evacuation and repatriation insurance coverage is met, alleviating the burden on the postdoc to find this coverage. Additionally, the campus does not need to monitor the coverage with the postdocs being automatically enrolled in the plan once eligibility is confirmed.
Providing these plans on a group basis reduces administrative costs as well as saves the postdocs from having to purchase J-1 visa compliant plans on their own.
We proudly support the National Postdoctoral Association.
